The CLT now owns 5 one-bed detached bungalows, 4 two-bed terraced, and 2 three-bed semi-detached homes; 9 are rented at affordable rents and 2 are under shared ownership with the CLT. All are lived in by people with ties to the parish of Haddenham. Eight more CLT properties are due to be completed later this year and during next year. The Trustees are working closely with the Council’s property arm of its Trading Company, Palace Green Homes, to continue the creation of what is becoming a lovely new development which, when complete, will be 54 homes with green spaces and a children’s play area.
Community Land Trusts are a really excellent way for communities to be in the driving seat of development in their area and to deliver truly affordable homes for local people and provide an income for the community…for ever! The Council and the Combined Authority can support communities looking to set up their own Community Land Trust.
