Whilst not in the remit of the District Council to deliver these services and improvements we are working hard to get a better deal for East Cambs residents. Our Bus Prospectus has been sent to the Combined Authority (CA) and will be used to inform the CA’s Bus Improvement Plan. You can view it here.
We have also decided (subject to agreement at Committee) to put some funding into carrying out feasibility work on identified cycle routes, which will help us to lobby for funding from other organisations such as the CA and Government, to get these routes delivered. I am chuffed to bits that the much loved Little Downham to Ely footpath is one of the routes being prioritised for a feasibility study, to be carried out by Sustrans.
These are the routes earmarked for feasibility studies:
- Fordham – Burwell
- Haddenham – A142
- Little Downham – Ely
- Littleport – Chettisham – Ely
- Swaffham Prior – Reach – Burwell
- + a refresh of Wicken to Soham
