CONSERVATIVES FREEZE COUNCIL TAX FOR 13TH YEAR
❌ Liberal Democrats voted AGAINST.
😳 Lib Dems attempted to blow a £500,000+ hole in our future budget with irresponsible spending.
✅ We have zero external debt, free town and city centre parking, more affordable housing, no cuts to services.
🗳️ We promised, we delivered.
💙 That’s the Conservative way.
EAST CAMBS CONSERVATIVES DELIVER GREAT LOCAL SERVICES
💵 As well as freezing Council Tax for the 13th year, with no external debt, our Budget supported a huge number of services.
A few things our Budget does:
- Provides up to £5k per parish to undertake a Neighbourhood Development Plan
- Keeps Green waste service free of charge (70% of Councils now charge extra)
- Funds the new waste service with black wheelie bins and weekly food waste collection
- Continues much-needed affordable housing developments – new homes reserved for local people with the strongest ties to their community
- Maintains zero external debt – no spending tax payers’ cash on debt interest payments
💙 That’s the Conservative way.
LIB DEMS REFUSE TO SUPPORT INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENTS
💵 Conservatives have increased funding for Health Facilities, got Accessible Play funding moving quickly and approved funding for a new community grant scheme.
❌ The Lib Dems REFUSED to support any of this.
⁉️ It comes after the Lib Dems also REFUSED to support our £1m+ investment in a new GP Surgery in Stretham.
⚠️ This included Lib Dem MP Charlotte Cane, who allegedly champions our NHS…
POLITICS. ABOVE. RESIDENTS.
✅ Our district is growing and we will always support good quality infrastructure.
💙 That’s the Conservative way.
CONSERVATIVES LEAD A HARDWORKING COUNCIL
👎 Lib Dem Leader Lorna Dupré inaccurately described East Cambs as a ‘do-nothing Council’ .
❓ Does she think freezing Council Tax for 13 years, free parking, a free green waste service, support for Internal Drainage Boards and millions in infrastructure investments and affordable housing is ‘do nothing’?
❌ It comes as the East Cambs Lib Dems voted against freezing Council Tax (again), whilst increasing it by the maximum amount allowed at the County Council – all whilst refusing to properly fund badly needed road repairs in East Cambs.
