Environment

We care about the environment and our natural heritage and are doing all that we can to play our part in passing on a better planet for future generations.
We have an Environment and Climate Change Strategy and Action Plan which is refreshed annually with new commitments of what will be achieved that year.

We have promised to try to reach net zero by 2040.

We work hard to keep our lovely district free of litter, fly-tipping and graffiti and where we have the evidence to do so we will prosecute people that break the law.

We are part of the Doubling Nature campaign being run by Natural Cambridgeshire and are playing our part in improving the amount of space for nature.

You are doing a great job in East Cambs at recycling and we regularly have one of the best recycling rates in Cambridgeshire – thank you! But we know we can do more, and we are working towards the changes that Government are bringing in through the national Resources and Waste Strategy, to reduce packaging and drive up re-use and recycling.
