BIG ANNOUNCEMENT – OUR ROADS
🛣️ East Cambs Conservatives are set to ask the Government to let East Cambs District Council take over maintenance of the East Cambs road network from the County Council.
💡Now that local government reorganisation has been “paused” and is under review, Council Leader Anna Bailey is using the opportunity to write to Government to ask them to let the District Council maintain our roads.
❌ Lib Dem-run Cambridgeshire County Council has FAILED to fix our rural roads or give us the funding we need. So we want to take matters into our own – much more LOCAL – hands.
⚠️ We will prioritise road maintenance over unwanted 20mph zones and mad schemes in Cambridge costing £zillions!
💙It’s part of our plan to improve our area, and if we don’t get it, we’ll keep fighting hard, reporting and following up on our roads.
đź“ť A Motion will be laid before East Cambridgeshire District Council this October, setting out the details of our ask. Stay tuned.
Lower Taxes. Quality Services. Better for East Cambs.
🌳 That’s the Conservative way.
